If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

It seems if you blog about WordPress, eventually you have to write a ‘favorite plugin’ list.
Well not wanting to disappoint, I’ve decided to through my list out there for you.

Keep in mind this is my favorite list, for the moment.
As I explore the many different plugins available for WordPress I always find a couple more that I like and after using for awhile can hit ‘my favorite’ list.
The ones I am offering up in this list are ones I use on a regular basis and install on all my blogs and all my clients blogs. These are in no particular order.

  1. SpamKarma2
  2. is the comment spam blocking plugin to use for fighting spam on your blog.
Unlike Askimet which requires an API key from WordPress.com, SK2 is ready to use as soon as you upload and activate it. One of the best, if not the best spam blockers there is for a WordPress blog

  3. All in One SEO Pack
  4. WordPress blogs are only semi search engine friendly, All in One SEO Pack changes that and makes your blog a search engines dream.
You can set your Home page title, description, and keywords with it, plus a lot more. How your title is displayed is important and All in One takes care of that also for your post, page, categories, etc.

  5. Dagon Design Form Mailer
  6. Allows you to place a contact form on your site with a verification box so it can’t be used by anything other then a human. Very simple to set up and use, it is a most for adding contact forms. Plus you can add as many different forms as you want. There is also a PHP version available for regular websites that I have used that also gives you the option of using ReCaptcha.

  7. FeedBurner FeedSmith
  8. Lets you manage all your RSS feeds through FeedBurner. Again very easy to set up and you can view the stats for your feeds right in your FeedBurner account or in your blogs admin if you use the WordPress Reports plugin (below).

  9. Local Analytics
  10. If you use Google Analytics on your blog this plugin makes it so much easier. It will load your analytics code and keep it in cache so it wont slow down your page loading. It can also be integrated with the WordPress Reports plugin.

  11. WordPress Reports
  12. Finally after mentioning it twice above here it is. WordPRess Reports lets you see your Google Analytics and FeedBurner reports right in your blog’s dashboard. Simple to set up and use it will same you time and searching.

  13. Permalink Redirect
  14. If you want to change your permalink structure and you already have posts on your blog you’re screwed, till now. Permalink Redirect replies with a 301 permament redirect if the requested URI is different from the entry or archive’s permalink. In other words it is used to ensure that there is only one URL associated with each blog entry.

  15. WP-dTree
  16. Generate navigation trees for your posts, pages, and categories. Forget about the boring navigation you get in WordPress. WP-dTree uses Scriptaculous for some really cool display effects.

  17. WWW Redirect
  18. Gives you the ability to set redirects to the www prefix, to non-www prefix, and redirect index.php requests to /. Doesn’t sound like much but it will aid in your SEO by keeping all inbound links and requests going to the same URL.

  19. What Would Seth Godin Do
  20. Well more then likely use this plugin to place a box on your home page making it easier for visitors to subscribe to your RSS feed. You can configure the plugin to show on the first visit, every visit, or how ever many visits you want. Change the message and location also.

Well that’s it for today. Those are the plugins I always use and can’t blog without. Try them yourself and you will understand why.
